Well for those who don't know.......
The 27th we went to Orlando That night we went to a friends house to her daughters birthday party... While we were there Bean was playing with their dogs one was giving her kisses Bean was turned around when someone snapped a picture well Both Bean and and the Dog turned at the same time and Bean was well bitten..... Not aggressively but still bitten. We went to the ER closest to their house (Dr Phillips Hospital). She received 7 stitches and really needed apparently 3 more but got glued instead. Well all was doing well till Tuesday the 30th. The Large cut starting oozing so called my Pedi who told me to go to the closest urgent care to see if it needed to be looked at again by the ER. Well ( I will leave the gross stuff out) We needed to go to the ER. We went and waited 2 hours they cut the stiches out (leave out more gross stuff) and decided she needed to go to the childrens hospital (Arnold Palmer). They did an IV antibiotic drip and said she needed to be seen by a surgeon. We waited a while longer till our ambulance transport got there. Then we went to Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital. She was put on IV antibiotics every 6 hours. Was seen by several docs who basically said we had to wait it out till the infection and swelling went down. Well new years eve The surgeon finally saw her they decided that she did not need to be operated on and cleaned out. That night about 10 they came to do another IV when it started leaking. Well because it was new years eve It was a skeleton staff on our floor and the fact another little girl pulled her IV out, it took till after 1 am to get a new one put in. It took 3 tries but Bean was a trooper. She finally got her Anti biotics and we got some sleep. Well New years day The bacteria cultures came back with preleminary results of no harmful bacteria just a run of the mill facial bacteria. So we got to go home (well back to the hotel).
Fast Fwd to atlanta We got back on the 4th. Went to the Doc monday morning.... they upped her antibiotic dose because it still is infected and open. We go back on this afternoon to do another re-check.
But through everything she was one heck of a tough cookie... nothing seemed to hurt her it was crazy but she HATED having to stay in the room and when we had to wrap her up or put her arm on a board for the IV.
